Turbo Camaro Tune, K20 Nitrous Tune, and CRX Drag Times

Photobucket

Jon brought us his turbo Camaro in for a tune a while back. He had a few small issues with some oil leaks at the optispark, and needed a new set of plug wires. We got him back on the rollers today, with the leaks resolved, and a set of MSD braided wires installed.

Here is Jon's setup:

LT1
355ci w/ main girdle
Scat Crank
Eagle Rods
Scat 9:1 Pistons
Trick Flow heads
Custom Grind Cam

ProTurbo Turbo Kit
PT76GTS Turbo
3" Down Pipe
Open Wastegate Dump

Walbro 255 LPH Pumps
Bosch 60# Injectors
Kenne Bell Boost-A-Pump

Tuned on TunerCats

Here is the chart for 14.5 PSI. Jon's car will be back for more boost and more power, once he upgrades his fuel system. Future plans include a Bosch 044 fuel pump, and larger injectors. which will allow us to run more boost and higher RPM.

Barnie brought his RSX back today for a tune on nitrous. We had tuned the car a while back for his cam setup, but this time he had added the 100 Shot.

Here is Barnie's tuning thread from the last time he was in.

Bottle pressure was a little lower than optimal, at 880-900 PSI. We usually like to see around 1000-1100 PSI.

Here is the setup:

RSX-S - k20a2
Toruku street cams (stock valve springs)
RBC Intake Manifold
DC Race Header (designed for mid-range)
3" exhaust > 2.25 or 2.5" exhaust towards the end
Tuned on KPro

Zex Nitrous Kit (100 Shot, 880-900 PSI pressure)

Here is the chart.

We took my CRX out to Union Dragway yesterday. I'd never been to the new track out there, and it's really nice. I had a really good time. This was only our third time out with the car.

Our setup is really basic. Stock sleeves, no block guard, piston rod motor. Tuned on E85, Stock Axles. We put the car together in a few days, and it hasn't changed much at all. Still working the kinks out of the setup.

As you can tell from the video, the 2 step was too low, and the car bogged out of the hole. We pulled out several 7.6 passes. I think that we'll play with the 2 step a little next time, and hopefully see some low 7 sec passes. Maybe I'll play with a little better suspension too.
