Turbo 350Z and Built WRX STi's at TDC...

Photobucket

Shane's 350Z is back for an oil change and preparation for a tune tomorrow using UTEC. This car should see close to 400whp on 9psi and also might have some more boost added for this daily driven warrior.

Photobucket

Dr. McGraw Subaru STI came through the shop today in need of a tune up for these cold winter weather. He was also having issues with his methanol injection kit which we were able to resolve that for him.

420a MegaSquirt Tune and B20z Integra Timing Belt....

Photobucket

Emir dropped off his 96 Integra for a check engine light issue. After solving that issue we also replaced the timing belt and performed some other regular maintenance to have him on his way today.

This car belongs to Levi. He brought his Eclipse to us after he had rebuilt the engine, and was unable to get the car to start. We determined that the ECU was bad, and Levi opted to have us install a MegaSquirt SnS unit.

Levi's car has been at the shop for quite some time now. We originally installed a MS-II board (the newest version). Despite extreme wire insulating measures, it would loose sync (verified by datalog) randomly. For those who don't know, it means that the tach signal and other sensors would loose signal to the ECU. When that happens in the middle of a WOT run, it literally feels like the car shuts off (usually lasts .1sec) and keeps going like nothing every happened.... A pain to deal with especially when it encounters this several times during a run and obviously not safe or drivable with this symptom. The company who sold the assembled MS-II board swore it was everything but the board itself. Long story short, we sent back the MS-II board several months ago so they can separate two components inside the ECU that can suffer from cross-interference due to how close they are together inside the ECU. Rare, but it does happen. We replaced the board with a MS-I board (with spark control) in the mean time and problem solved. Now Levi is finally able to enjoy his car.

Here is the setup:

420a Engine
Eagle Rods
JE 8.8:1 Pistons
Cometic Head Gasket
ARP Head Studs

DSM 450cc Injectors
Walbro 255 LPH Fuel Pump
Aeromotive Regulator

Hahn Racecraft Turbo Kit
Hahn 16g Turbo
2 1/4" Downpipe
FMIC

Tuned on MegaSquirt SnS

Here is the chart. The wastegate pressure is 5 PSI, touching on 6 PSI at higher RPM

E85 Crome Gold tune, and a few Civic fixes....

Photobucket

Here is the setup:

Stock GSR Block
Stock B16 Head
GSR Cams
ARP Head Studs
Type R Intake Manifold

880cc PTE Injectors
B&M FPR
Walbro 255 LPH Fuel Pump
AEM Fuel Rail

BRMS Top Mount Manifold
eBay 60-1
eBay 38mm Wastegate
eBay FMIC and 2" Piping
3" Downpipe

We were only able to make 2 full passes on the dyno. The eBay wastegate failed, and would not hold boost. Be on the lookout for a new chart within a week with a new Tial wastegate and more boost. This turbo should really come alive at 10-12 PSI.

This chart is on 3.8 PSI.

This chart is on 6.2 PSI.

Heath's cylinder head is back from the machine shop and the new valves are installed. We're installing the head today, and planning to get him back on the road this afternoon.

Photobucket

Also in the shop today is Robbie's EF Civic. Robbie is a long time TDC customer, and his Civic is need of repair. His JDM B16 is getting a valve adjustment and a full tune up, featuring a set of MSD plug wires, a new radiator, and a few other maintenance items. Robbie also had an exhaust leak, so we took care of that while he was on the lift.

SR20DET Motor Builds

Photobucket

Cam's S13 SR20DET is in for its winter tear down. Instead of just a rebuild , Cam is going with 10:5:1 CP Pistons and Eagle Rods. When all is done and back together, the S13 will then be re-tuned on E85. This car will be ready to go for the new year. Be on the look out of the Lo boost dyno sheets in the next few weeks.

Civic SI Flash Pro Tune and CRX Precision Intercooler....

Photobucket

Heath's 2009 Civic Si was in for a tune on Hondata FlashPro.

Here is the setup:

K20z3
CP 11:1 Pistons
Eagle Rods

DC Race Header
Tsudo 2 1/2" Exhaust
eBay Intake

Here are the results. The Green Chart is from the base pull, and the Blue Chart is from after the tune.
Photobucket

We also have came across a used Precision Back-Door Intercooler for our CRX. The old customized one was not efficient enough for our power needs. Look for this car to be back on the dyno here soon for more boost!

We had a chance to get our CRX back on the dyno today for a few pulls, and since there has been so much discussion about E85 tunes as of late on the forums, I thought that I would share the lower boost numbers. Here is the setup:

Stock GSR Cams
